We value academic excellence and industry relevance. Our programs are delivered through UBC’s Faculty of Land and Food Systems. Our Food Science program is recognized by Scimago Institution as one of the top 50 food science schools in North America.
Our programs can bolster the skills of people who are already part of the food and beverage workforce, as well as those interested in gaining entry-level skills. We offer flexible, online micro-courses or in-person, full-time programs that include practicum and industry experience.

Master of Food and Resource Economics
In just one year, you’ll grasp the economics, business, and policy of agriculture. Master of Food Science
In this immersive one-year program, you’ll delve deep into the art and science of food, using diverse disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and nutrition to explore how to create and enhance food products, and contribute to the overall safety and quality of the global food supply.
Whether working in food production companies, research institutions, regulatory agencies, or quality control laboratories, your expertise as a food scientist will drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
Master of Nutrition and Dietetics
Gain a deep understanding of nutrition science and how diets can impact personal and population health. This comprehensive program is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career as a Dietetics professional.
A 28-month long program, you’ll understand the impact of nutrition on the body, and be able to work closely with healthcare professionals to provide dietary recommendations for patients with medical conditions. Additionally, our curriculum can prepare you for opportunities in food product development, public health initiatives, and policy-making related to nutrition.
